What a bizarre picture, huh? This newspaper photo is really telling. The press photographer who shot this photo in 1933 did a really cool job. The title of the photo is The terror of the neighborhood and that really shows in the photo. A piece of Dutch history that you really see in this truly vintage portrait photo. Here you see a piece of the Netherlands in the 30s. It's a photo you won't soon forget. After all, whose child is allowed to smoke at such a young age? Bizarre that it wasn't immediately strange, over 90 years ago. A nice birthday present, especially if your birthday is on May 24th. If your birthday is in May, you could be a twin or a tough bull. If your birthday is exactly on May 24th, the date this newspaper was published, then you are a twin. But of course you already knew that. What is especially special is that the portrait photo of the smoking young man/child was taken over 90 years ago. So you can assume that this child must be between 98-102 now. But most likely not, because.. what do you think if you already smoke at such a young age..

House from May 1933 - the perfect 1930s housewarming gift

If you have a house from 1933 or.. your friends just bought a pearl. Then this is the perfect gift for a 1930s home. It is a meaningful gift, because who has a portrait photo from the same year as the house was completed (May 1933).

A nice gift for someone who loves to smoke

You can get cigarettes in fewer and fewer places in the Netherlands, and to be honest, it's getting better and better. Are you a chain smoker yourself or is your best friend a cigar lover? Then it's great to buy a nice gift for his or her birthday in May. You can also give it as a symbolic gift. Especially for that friend who just quit smoking and.. secretly suffers from it sometimes. Because someone who quits really deserves an I-have-quitted-smoking gift. Especially as a boost or just plain teasing. Every day, they see a boy from over 90 years ago with a mischievous look on his face, happily smoking!

  • Text from the newspaper of May 24, 1933: The old man sat in his armchair by the table, staring into the fire, which crackled softly and spread a cozy warmth throughout the small room. His gaze was fixed on the flames, which now rose high and then flared up again, while his thoughts were lost in the memories of a long and eventful life.

Suddenly, he was startled by a soft tap on the window. He looked up and saw a small bird pecking at the glass with its beak. The old man stood up and opened the window. The bird fluttered inside and landed on the table. It was a small, gray bird with a remarkably bright eye, looking at the old man with a look that sent shivers down his spine. "What do you want, little bird?" asked the old man. The bird didn't answer, but continued to stare at him with its bright eye. The old man felt an uneasy feeling creep over him. He felt the bird trying to tell him something, but he didn't know what. He picked up a piece of bread and threw it to the bird. The bird picked it up and began to eat. The old man watched, but the uneasy feeling remained. He decided to ignore the bird and went back to his armchair. He tried to focus his attention back on the fire, but he couldn't. The image of the little bird with its bright eye remained seared into his retina. He felt restless and decided to go to bed. The next morning, the old man awoke with a sense of relief. He had slept restlessly all night, but the bird was nowhere to be seen. He got up and dressed. When he entered the room, he saw the bird sitting on the table again. It was looking at him with the same clear gaze as the day before. The old man felt his anxiety rise again. He grabbed a broom and tried to shoo the bird away. The bird fluttered away, but came back a moment later. The old man tried to catch the bird, but it was too fast for him. He decided to leave the bird alone and went to the kitchen to eat breakfast. When he was done, he went back to the room. The bird was still there. The old man began to wonder if the bird was trying to tell him something. He took a piece of paper and a pencil and began to write. He wrote about his life, his memories, his fears, and his dreams. He wrote down everything that came to mind. When he finished, he put the paper on the table and looked at the little bird. The little bird picked up the paper and began to read it. The old man watched and saw the little bird nod occasionally. When the little bird had finished, it looked at the old man with a look of understanding. The old man felt a wave of relief wash over him. He felt as if the little bird understood him. The next day, the bird was gone. The old man felt lonely, but also relieved. He wasn't sure what the bird had wanted to tell him, but he felt he understood. He felt he had finished his life and was ready to die. A few days later, the old man was found dead in his armchair. He had a smile on his face.
